\u201c\u2026soy otro cuando soy, los actos m\u00edos\u00a0\nson m\u00e1s m\u00edos si son tambi\u00e9n de todos,\u00a0\npara que pueda ser he de ser otro,\u00a0\nsalir de m\u00ed, buscarme entre los otros,\u00a0\nlos otros que no son si yo no existo,\u00a0\nlos otros que me dan plena existencia,\u00a0\nno soy, no hay yo, siempre somos nosotros\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\nWith these words from his poem \u201cSunstone,\u201d Mexican Nobel Prize winner Octavio Paz, inquires into the topic of identity and gave me an idea for a new work. This piece, is actually two pieces \u201cAbout Oneself\u201d is the first part and \"Sobre los Otros\"<\/a> the second one. During the time I wrote these pieces, I was reflecting upon the concept of originality, and I decided to write a piece based on \u201coriginal ideas\u201d and other one based on \u201cother people\u2019s ideas\u201d. Ok, but, how do you get your \u201coriginal ideas\u201d? I decided to improvise and to take the result as pure as possible to create my \u201coriginal\u201d piece of music. I know it\u2019s completely arguable, as one always has external influence in the creative process, and it\u2019s almost imposible to create such thing as \u201c100% original music,\u201d but I gave it a try. The result was a very melodic piece and I didn\u2019t expect that, but it reflected my creativity and life in that moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
